Life as a student who is taking three honors/AP courses can be hard as is, but when you have to also balance working and your social life, it will just drain you to your very last drop. This is the challenge I go through every day. My day ends at 2 am sometimes and it starts at 5:30 AM. After my long day of school, I have to go to my Dad’s taco shop and help with taking orders, preparing the food, and cleaning all this while having the best attitude regardless with how my day is going. This doesn’t just take a toll on me physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. During my lunch breaks I get as much of my homework done as I can, but like always I can’t even scratch the surface. My days can end as late as 12 AM, once home I finish what seems like an endless amount of homework that could vary from essays, book reports, projects, and ECT. To end my day, I take a nice hot bath to soothe my body, read my favorite book to heal my soul and take the time to stop and clear my mind from all stress. Then my days off which are weekends I spend my time not resting but taking this time to remember despite my responsibilities being very overwhelming , I am still a teenager who needs their time to socialize and do what regular people my age do….. HAVE FUN! I do all this while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
