Phu Tran

My name is Phu Tran and I am a senior at Hoover. A challenge I’ve had would be putting myself out there and becoming more confident. I used to hate talking to people and presenting, but somehow I’ve grown mentally and found confidence. If you met freshman Phu he would be so different than the Phu right now. I put myself out there by joining sports and clubs and increased my confidence by having supportive people around me. At the moment, I am still not as confident as I want to be, but I am working on it. And seeing the progress I’ve made only motivates me to becoming a better me.

I look up to my parents because they have sacrificed so much to allow me to have a better future and to be the person I am today. I also look up to them because they are great hardworking people with good morals. A characteristic that I look up to from my mom would be her kindness and another characteristic I look up to from my dad would be his honesty. They are very supportive of my choices and someday I hope to be like them .
