Jasmine Nguyen
Jasmine Nguyen may be a very familiar name here in San Diego, California yet, probably because I was born in Lowell Massachusetts. I was born on July 6th, 2000. I’m not really one to believe horoscopes, but sometimes my readings are a bit too accurate sometimes, so I can’t help but read them.
My mom and I came to San Diego when I was only a 3rd grader. My extended family was over here, so that’s why we decided to move over. I was never very familiar with my family in Massachusetts anyway. I grew up with two older brothers, one 18, and the other 23. The three of us didn’t have much of a sibling rivalry besides constantly competing to see who got better grades My dad wasn’t around much when I was a young girl, because he was unfortunately a drug addict. My mother had to divorce him after he would often go missing and not come home, resulting in multiple search parties. Ever since, I never really had much of a father figure growing up. I’ve learned that not everybody needs a father figure growing up, even though one would’ve been nice.
I often feel that I’m slowly losing my connection with my mother because lately I’ve been so caught up in school. College is nearing around the corner as well, so I know that I can’t do anything to improve our relationship. It’s not like there’s anything wrong with it anyway.
