Lyne Le

Hey! My name is Lyne Le (LEE-NEE). I’m new to Hoover High. I’m a freshman. I was born on April 12, 2003. I started school late, so I’m supposed to be a sophomore, but sadly not. I am 75% Vietnamese and 25% Black. I live with my mom, dad, and sister, Lena. I also have two dogs named Puddles and Emma.

For me, an important factor to my happiness is my family and friends. A time I felt happy recently was when I was with my friends at the mall, just walking and goofing around. My friends and family are an important thing in my life. They’re there for me when I need someone. Although there are times where we don’t get along, I know my family and friends will always be there for me. A moment I felt complete was when I was surrounded by my family and close friends.

One of my greatest struggles right now would be trying to help my family with personal things at home. I know as a family, we can get through it and be stronger than ever. A time I took a risk was the first time I ever sang in front of people. I felt like the outcome would be bad and I would be judged for it, but I’m really passionate about it. Another thing I am really passionate about is equal rights and what’s going on in the world.

Although I see myself as a very optimistic person, a time I felt depressed would be when I stayed in my room and didn’t go anywhere with my family. However, I think all the difficult/sad/bad times I’ve been through made me the person I am today. I’ve learned from all those bad moments and grown from it.

A piece of advice I would give to others is if there’s something specific you want to do with your life, pursue it and go for it because it’s your life and your decision in the end. Don’t let others stop you or judge you for doing something that makes you happy.
