America Zamarripa

Hi I’m America Zamarripa, and I’m a sophomore at Hoover High and currently on the junior varsity cheerleading team. I, like any other student, face hardships of being in high school and maintaining good grades. Sometimes I just don’t have time or energy to do my homework.  Being in a sport can be a little challenging at times because I arrive home around 7 pm after a long game. However, I’ve managed to keep my grades at a 3.0 average. I’ve understood that even if I have fun, I also have to work hard because I know that I can’t always be having fun or else my grades will drop.

The best thing about being in high school, is the chance to make long term friendships with amazing people.  They keep me going. My friends guide me and push me to do better in everything I do. Being able to have this kind of support not only from my friends but also my family is what helps me achieve success.

One of the many things I enjoy is going on long late night walks with people I love.  I also love tennis, basketball, ice cream, pizza, and of course cheer. I just want to be successful and happy in all the things I do.
