Being one of the richest African American woman in the 21st century with a net worth of 3 billion dollars, Oprah Winfrey has risen up from a rough past by transforming that situation and making it into something that will make her known to cause change.

The actress, producer, TV show host, and philanthropist has been able to have many achievements. After being part of the 1985 film, The Color Purple, her career skyrocketed and later was able to become a TV host for her show, The Oprah Winfrey Show. For nearly three decades, she had the highest rated talk show of all time and was later able to create her Oprah Winfrey Network and create popular shows like, Oprah : Where Are They Now?

Because of her hosting skills, she was able to become one of the most influential people in the 21st century. She made recent headlines with her Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award speech, at the 2018 Golden Globes by speaking out on sexual assault and mentioning the Times Up movement to encourage more women to not be afraid to let their voices be heard.
