Garavous Kouekabakilaho

My name is Garavous Kouekabakilaho and I’m a freshman here at Hoover. I was born in The Republic of Congo, and came to the United States four years ago. My favorite thing about being in school is being able to learn new things and making new friends. My favorite subject in school is English. I try to stay involved through soccer and lacrosse.

My goals as of right now are to grow to be a better and more mature leader. “To be a leader you have to first be a follower.” After high school, I plan to graduate and hopefully attend a four year, a UC, and major in Engineering since I am good at math. I would also describe myself as both athletic and academic.

As I grow up, I’d like to remain the compassionate person I am today.  I do not like to judge and put people down. Coming from a difficult place with no food, not much money, and no education, I was forced to drop out. I am very grateful for everything that I have today. I am lucky to have free education, plenty of friends and my favorite Mexican food. “Always be thankful.”
