Demi Lovato is a American pop singer, songwriter, and actress. Lovato has been active in her career of singing since 2002 and has been in films since she was a child. She was born in 1992 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her father is Mexican but her mother is Irish.

Since childhood, Demi has played piano, drums, guitar, and sings. She was so talented, her  parents had her take acting classes. However, because of this, she was bullied almost everyday to where she had to be homeschooled. After that, she had been taking theatre classes and was in the movie, Camp Rock. With the popularity of the movie, Lovato began writing her own songs. Her debut album, Don’t Forget, made it to number two on the Billboard 200 chart.

Although Demi’s career was going great, she was reported to have bipolar disorder in 2010 and she explain how that went for her in 2017 on a YouTube documentary. She had also wrote a book about her condition. Ever since her career started she volunteered for social causes such as children with mental illnesses or the rights of LGBTQ+ community.

She has been nominated and won many rewards like the People’s Choice Award, a Teen Choice Award, and ALMA Awards.
