Carmen Reyna is currently a 16-year-old junior in Hoover High School, and part of the AHHC academy. She was born in San Diego, California.
Carmen is also part of the softball team. She had always wanted to try something new, and after her friend had encouraged her to attend tryouts, she instantly became hooked. She first started playing her sophomore year and has enjoyed every moment since. If you’re looking to try something new, she recommends joining a sport. Her favorite memory is when there was a softball game at Southwest High School, which coincided with her coach’s birthday.
What keeps her motivated is her peers and family, more specifically her mom. Carmen aspires to provide her mom with a better life. She plans on attending a community college and then possibly transferring to a four year university to become either a radiologist or physical therapist. She would be the first in her family to go to college.
Her goals include learning how to balance multiple things and overcoming procrastination. Outside of school, she enjoys walking her dogs and doing art. What she feels is her biggest challenge is balancing everything, between school, sports, her programs and personal life, she finds it difficult for everything to fit in. Despite these challenges she always makes time for her favorite Hoover tradition, the Haunted House.
