Vivian Nguyen is a 17-year-old senior in the ALMA academy at Hoover High School. Vivian was born in San Diego, California on August 5th, making her a Leo.

Vivian loves her birthday and disagrees with all the stereotypes surrounding her birthday.  Vivian listens to all kinds of music but her favorite song of all time is “Transform” by Daniel Caesar. Her favorite movie series is Harry Potter, with her favorite film from it is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, which she says is a classic movie that everyone should watch at least once.

During Vivian’s time at Hoover, her favorite class has been choir. She says it’s a super fun class for her because she is passionate about singing and performing.

“The girls are so welcoming and nice, and I definitely found a part of my voice within the choir” she expressed.

Vivian is a member of the Dance Club, the new VAPA Student Advisory, and First Gen Scholars, who have helped her prepare for college. Outside of school, Vivian is a part of Legendary Lion Dance, where she can fulfill her love for performing for her community and embrace her Vietnamese heritage and culture.

After high school, Vivian plans on going to a four-year university and majoring in either biology or biochemistry. After college, she really wants to pursue a career in aviation. Vivian specifically wants to become a flight attendant one day. Becoming a flight attendant would mean that Vivian can achieve her dreams of traveling and learning about new cultures.
