Many people complain about being single on Valentines or being single in general. I don’t think we should complain though, couples have to deal with issues that single people don’t have to deal with.
Some relationships become really toxic which leads to both partners getting sick of each other and causes them to have a messy break-up because they literally do not like each other anymore. You shouldn’t be so upset about spending your days alone, at least you don’t have someone complaining about how long it takes to reply, where you are, and who you talk to. Yeah you might have to buy your own chocolates, but be glad you have that freedom to buy the chocolates you want, and do what you want when you want. Looking at a couple being happy may make you sad and feel lonely, but you don’t have to be sad because we only see the good parts about couples, we never see the bad arguments and toxicity that happens between them.
Arguments and toxicity are things you don’t have to deal with because you’re single. Isn’t it amazing? Even better, you can still celebrate Valentines with no partner like a “galentines” with your best girlfriends or with your pets or if you’re a guy you can spend it with your friends, and that’s cool too. I feel “galentines” or spending Valentines with anyone but a partner is more fun because it doesn’t have to be super romantic, you just eat and enjoy.
Honestly being single is better than being in a relationship. Of course there are going to be times where you wished you were in one but when you’re single you have nothing to lose, you save yourself from a lot of problems, heartbreak and “the drama.” You have chosen to be alone. Some may have feelings of loneliness, but that is a different topic. Being alone by choice means being independent.
Go spend Valentines alone or with friends, who cares if you’re single. You can do whatever you want. In my opinion, spending Valentines eating candy while watching a movie with your cat or dog is way better than going on a boring date.
