Valentine’s Day is coming up so you know what that means…seeing a bunch of lovey dovey couples celebrating. Bad news is you’re all alone, or maybe you recently got out of a relationship or you’re spending Valentines alone again. That’s alright though because there’s a bunch of things to do by yourself this Valentine’s Day. You don’t need a valentine when you yourself can be your own valentine or just spend it with friends. Here’s ten things to do this Valentine’s Day by yourself or with friends.
1) Create a spa day at home. Treat yourself to something nice and relaxing. Get a bubble bath ready, bath bombs, some face masks, and listen to your favorite music.
2) Host a movie marathon with your friends or by yourself. Watch your favorite film series or your favorite films. Grab your popcorn, favorite snacks, and drinks.
3) Take on an old hobby, or explore a new hobby such as crafts. Try to do a painting, maybe knit something or try cooking your favorite meal or something you’ve never tried before.
4) Plan an activity or event. Plan something with your friends. Plan to go visiting a new café, a park or go to a local attraction together.
5) Organize a game night. Invite some friends over and play some board games or video games if that’s more your style. Of course, add some friendly competition and snacks and you’re all set.
6) Go on a nature walk or hike. Go enjoy the outdoors and beautiful scenery while calming the mind. It’s also great exercise. This is something you can do solo or with friends and family.
7) Volunteer at a local charity or organization. Meet new people while giving back to your community. It’ll be nice helping new people, and you’ll make people feel better and yourself. Or you can volunteer at an animal shelter and find a new friend!
8) This is similar to number one but take a self care day. Do some reading, start some journaling, or try meditating to focus on your well being. There’s nothing more important than your well being.
9) Try out a new restaurant or café. Try a new place that you’ve been meaning to try and treat yourself to a nice meal or coffee. It doesn’t have to be fancy. Some of the best places are cheap eats!
10) Attend a local event. Find an event that’s going on around you and attend to meet new people, enjoy something out of your comfort zone and have fun.
Those are my ten things to do if you don’t have a Valentine. You can make that day special with friends or by yourself. You don’t need a significant other to enjoy Valentine’s Day. Date yourself that day because then it’s more fun than sulking around.
