MF DOOM, was a British-American rapper and producer known for his unique twist on 2000’s hip-hop with his metal mask that represents the Marvel villain “Doctor Doom,” hiding his face from the world.
Daniel Dumile, who goes by the stage name MF DOOM was a British-American rapper born on July 13, 1971, in Hounslow, United Kingdom, but grew up in Long Island, New York. There isn’t much information about his childhood due to his privacy, but he had a younger brother named Dingilizwe Dumile who was also a hip-hop artist and was also in a hip-hop group with his older brother Daniel. Dingilizwe was only 19 when he passed away from a car accident. MF Doom didn’t attend college because he wanted to focus on his music career.
MF DOOM first started his career in the late 1980s, and he was in a band called KMD with his younger brother. After the death of his brother in 1993, Daniel was dropped from his label and took a break from the music industry for a few years. Daniel returned to the music industry in the late 1990s with a new persona wearing a metal mask depicting the Marvel villain “Doctor Doom” calling himself MF DOOM. MF DOOM’s first solo album was released on October 19, 1999, called Operation: Doomsday. MF DOOM has released six studio albums, two live albums, three compilation albums, 10 instrumental albums, seven collaborative albums, 14 singles, and 32 music videos in his career.
