Around the United States there are about over 771,000 people who have lived without a home throughout the year.
People who do not have a home all have a story as to why they are living without a home but not many chose to live without a home. Some have faced struggles that unfortunately led them to this. Those who deal with this issue give their focus to this issue and this issue only and makes them lose focus about other stuff. Being able to have a roof over your head is not only important for comfort or for protection but because it is one less worry to have in your life.
As a 16 year old student, I am extremely grateful to have a roof over my head. Being able to have a roof over my head is something I constantly take for granted in my life and I definitely feel privileged to have one. Living in a house takes food and sleep off my shoulder because I am able to sleep comfortably without having to worry about weather conditions and because I have utilities to keep my food warm or cold.In my life I have very few stressors but a major stressor that takes up bandwidth in my life is my education. I constantly worry about my grades or what my plan after school is but fortunately I have never had to worry about a housing situation.
Unfortunately the things that I least stress about are stuff that other teens without homes are constantly worrying about. Over 30,000 teens in the United States are part of the people living without homes or dealing with a housing issue. The average teenager is constantly worried about school, college, friendships, or even relationships but these teenagers who are struggling do not have the time to worry about this stuff. Some struggling teenagers are not able to focus on their education or on their future career because they are constantly worried about having a roof over their head.
Being able to have a roof over your head is something that our population takes for granted and we should all be more appreciative.
