Jerry Sanchez is a hardworking and enthusiastic photographer and sophomore at Hoover High School and in the VAPA academy.
Jerry is a football athlete at Hoover and has been playing for two years now. He says not only has football season been fun but it has created unforgettable memories and friendships. Friendships are something that he prioritizes because he believes it is important to be a person someone can trust. Outside of Jerry’s sports life, he is also a part of Cardinals Interact and Avenues for Success which will help him prepare for his plans after high school. He tries to have a positive attitude about school and pushes himself so that he can maintain good grades and have a good career.
One of Jerry’s interests is music and playing instruments. Since his freshman year, he has taken part in a piano class which he has grown fond of. This semester he is in a rock band class where he is playing keys and also learning more about rock and getting to know his classmates. Some of Jerry’s favorite artists include Daniel Caesar, Thee Sacred Souls, and Kendrick Lamar.
Outside of Jerry’s school life he dedicates his time to photography. He says photography is something that he is very passionate about and something that he loves. Cameras as a whole is a way for Jerry to be able to express himself. His favorite type of photography is street photography and he would like to make it his main focus. His plans for high school and after high school are to graduate and to go into the media business such as photography or cinematography. He says that an alternative option for him would be to become a social worker.
“Always be yourself and stay true to yourself,” exclaimed Jerry.
