This year’s 2025 yearbook is now on sale in the finance office.
Editor-in-Chief, Alejandra Ramirez, lead her staff in creating a book that was reflective of the current year, after Hoover had one of its challenging years in 2024. She wanted to create a book that was fun and that reminded the student body of the great things about Hoover High School. After three days of discussion and tossing around ideas, the yearbook staff decided that “This is OUR Relpay” was a fitting theme for this year’s book. They felt last year was filled with negativity and Hoover needed a fresh start, especially with the new administration.
“I really wanted replay the good times that Hoover students had,” explained Alejandra. “Sure there were a number of events, but some stood out, and especially looking at the energy and excitement in the students’ faces.”
Many people do not know the process of putting the yearbook together. There is a large amount of planning before any of the content is written and any photographs used. It is basically a history book of the current school year. Hoover uses Jostens as their yearbook company, who prints and delivers the book to the school about three to four weeks before the end of the school year.
“The staff at Jostens is very helpful when we are creating the book,” said yearbook advisor Mr. Michael Heu. “They offer tutorials and curriculum which helps throughout the school year. The return staff is also great at helping the new staff members.”
Students can purchase the yearbook through the finance office. The price is $75. According to Mr. Heu, it is the most affordable yearbook in the district. Once the book is released, the yearbook staff will be selling autograph sheets and protection covers for $2 each.
