At Hoover, students have the opportunity to clear their attendance with an easy solution,
Saturday school. Fortunate for those who actually attend, unfortunate for those who chose to stay home and get some extra rest. Hoover has come to the realization that the attendance for Saturday school is very low and inconsistent, therefore, they have decided to start and offer an alternative, a religiously appropriate Sunday school.
To clear up any confusion, for four hours there will be different teachings every Sunday based on religions. Information on what religions will be discussed will be posted the week of. The school will be very open to any suggestions or opinions on this as we know it may come off a bit controversial but the administration and some staff decided this to show support for the students here at Hoover. So if students are not able to attend Saturday school, they will now have Sunday school! Hoover wants as many opportunities to clear up any bad attendance as possible so students are able to be successful.
This will start on the second Sunday, April 13, of this year. This could potentially be carried on to the next school year depending on how well the attendance is for the last 2 months of this school year. We encourage students to come if they are not interested in going to Saturday school, and are expected to follow the same rules as Saturday school, no phones and doors close at 8 AM. The school hopes to see many Cardinals there since they are doing this for students to clean-up their attendance, especially for the seniors whose numbers for absences and tardies are high.
Everyone is welcome to Sunday school, and it is one of many opportunities to clear your absences and tardies. Going to Sunday and Saturday school, while staying after school for tutoring throughout the week, will definitely make a big change in a student’s attendance. All three will help!
April Fools!
