There is going to be a new school policy here at Hoover that the administration is calling Campus Beautification.
Basically, if you are a senior and have way too many tardies or absences, you will need to spend 30 minutes after lunch cleaning up the school. If you missed a day or came in late, you’re going to spend that time you missed cleaning our campus, after school.
“This will teach students responsibility,” confirmed Associate Principal Ms. Cherese Wiltshire. “It will ensure that people are no longer late in the future.”
Ms. Wiltshire continued that it’s a good thing that this policy will be enforced because it means that the school will get cleaned and because it teaches students responsibility to prepare them for the responsibilities they’re going to need to face later on in life.
“I think students need to learn some responsibility and need to have some consequences for their actions,” expressed science teacher, Mr. Isaiah Hilton. “So if you come in late, you have to make up the time somehow, so after school would be a perfect way to do that and what better way then by cleaning our campus.”
Both Ms. Whilshire and Mr. Hilton agrees that this policy should happen and that it’s an efficient way to show principles, help students mature, and it’ll help students face real life situations later on in life, prepared. It helps them become more grounded, situated, and neat, which are qualities that these students need instilled into their minds if they want to be successful in life and want to better their person.
This new policy is going to be set as a chance for students to get rid of the tardies and absences they may have, to set responsibilities, and allow Hoover to showcase its beauty by having it look spotless because “We love a clean Hoover!”
