Kiel Mantatao is an outgoing and dedicated sophomore at Hoover High School and is in the AHHC academy.
Kiel is a student at Hoover High School and has been attending Hoover for two years. During this time, she has been working nonstop to raise her grades and to maintain a well balanced GPA. She says that school is one of her main priorities as she would like to graduate with honors and also attend a good college after graduation. She plans to attend NYU and would like to study for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and later on get her Master of Science in Nursing. Kiel is a student who makes sure to arrive on time and to never miss a day at school.
Before coming to Hoover, she lived in the Philippines for the majority of her life. Kiel says she was nervous to move to a place she has never been to and was also nervous to meet new people and to make new friends. However, she was able to quickly adapt to her new school and life. Her outgoing personality helped her make new friends and create bonds with other students and teachers. It wasn’t easy for her but she was able to keep pushing through it.
Outside of school, something that she enjoys doing is playing badminton. She says she likes playing in her free time and thinks that the sport is fun. Kiel says that her personal growth and her relationships with her family and friends are some that are important to her. She lives with her mom, her sister and her brother-in-law. She is the youngest out of her three siblings. On Sundays she enjoys going to church with her family and also getting dinner. She loves going to the beach and exploring new places.
