Olivia Rodrigo was born on February 20, 2003 in Murrieta, California and is best known as an American singer, songwriter, and actress.
Rodrigo comes from and proudly identifies as a Filipino American. Rodrio knew who she wanted to be at a young age. She began singing at only five years old first and by the time she was a teen she had already gained recognition with her acting roles on disney channel show, Bizaardvark and High School Musical; the series. Her acting career brought her into the spotlight of music.
Throughout her career, Rodrigo has won 31 awards and has been nominated for 65. She has won three Grammy awards, including best pop solo performance and best new artist. In 2021 she released her debut single, “Drivers License’ which broke streaming records and topped charts worldwide. Her album, SOUR, earned three Grammy Awards, Including Best New Artist. In 2023, Rodrigo released her second studio album Guts. The album reflected on growth and experiences she faced. The album shows emotional honesty showcasing Rodrigo’s voice and lyrics.
Many of Rodrios songs were actually written by her, she once claimed on Billboard “ I am a songwriter who writes from a place of authenticity and truth.” She wrote songs that were related to her own personal life.
