Jayden Carpinteyro Saucedo is a senior at Hoover High School. Born on February 6, he’s of Mexican and African American descent and grew up in City Heights.
Jayden is the kind of person who naturally lifts the mood, cracks jokes, and spreads good vibes wherever he goes. He’s a loyal friend who knows how to make the people around him feel included.
His passion for STEM, especially mechanical engineering, started young and quickly became more than just curiosity. Anything that makes noise, moves, or runs, Jayden is fascinated by. Cars and engines captured his imagination early, and his dream car is a Honda Integra Type R. He plans to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering at UCSD and hopes to build a career in the automotive industry.
Music is essential to Jayden’s life. He can’t go a day without it and you’ll always see him with his airpods on. Deftones is his favorite band and he plans on seeing them live soon. Dean Blunt’s “ZUSHI” is so influential that he plans to get the album cover tattooed. Anime is another big part of his life, with One Piece being his favorite.
Jayden’s faith is central to who he is, and follows Christ and looks to God as a role model. Jayden has clear pet peeves: people who stop in the middle of hallways or streets, and those who start to say something, only to immediately take it back and say “Wait, actually? Nevermind.”
His favorite food is curry and he can’t resist a glass of raspberry iced tea. On the baseball field, look out for number 15 on the Hoover varsity baseball team. Off the field, he’s just enjoying life, making memories, and having fun during his final year at Hoover.
