Morals are part of learning what’s wrong and right as a human being. Morals are what allow societies and people to exist with a purpose in life. To many people morals are the thoughts or feelings that allow them to think with purpose. Morals are defined as a concern for right and wrong and what determines the good and bad in a human character. But what are morals and what are they used for?
Morals are self inflicted and even given ideas or beliefs that are implanted to you in childhood. Over time these ideas or beliefs become morals in a person’s life. These morals can be used to guide social interactions as well as actions and decisions a person may take on a day to day basis. Morals can be used to solve or even avoid negative situations. This can be the foundation to the person you want to become in life.
I’ve learned that morals are needed in order to succeed in life without having to deal with social, mental and emotional blockades. Morals are important to me because they are who I am. If you portray yourself as someone with good morals and when your morals are shown, the person is shown as well. It can be bad and good. For example, a person who is shy can have good morals and it’ll show you who they are as a person even without interaction. However, in my case, instead of using my morals to avoid violent interactions and show people that I was shy but self minded. I portrayed moral beliefs that I needed to prove myself to everyone. It led me to being viewed as a person who couldn’t shape or control his beliefs. Therefore placing an image on my name that didn’t benefit me at any point in time.
Applying your morals and listening to them can shape your life forever. Doing the opposite can shape your life in a way you will regret in the future. But everyone doesn’t have the same morals because that’s human nature. Not everyone will be the same or act the same way. Morals should apply to you and who you want to be seen as, because a life without morals is a life without guidance and purpose.
