Austin Thonglek is an inspirational and dedicated senior at Hoover High School. He is a part of the health academy, AHHC, and is the vice president of Hoover’s ASB.
Austin comes from a diverse family background; Cambodian, Thai, and Lao. Growing up he went to Euclid Elementary and later went to Clark Middle School. He always found an interest in graphic design and marketing along with school spirit, so when he first came to Hoover he joined ASB and since then, he has been a part of it going on four years.
As vice president, he assists the ASB President, Chanel Giron, by organizing meetings and events, guiding ASB students, and also takes part in making posters, advertisements, and flyers which are posted around the school and on social media. He is also the head of CODE RED.
Austin is extremely excited to graduate high school and plans on going to the University of San Marcos or Cal Poly University to study digital marketing or real estate. Currently, he has his own business of selling sweet treats and party decor services. He hopes to expand this business and use his creativity as his main outlet. Outside of school, he likes to stay artistic and enjoys painting and creating abstract art as well as hanging out with his friends.
