SPOILER ALERT!

When you put a bunch of amazing, butt kicking, superheroes in one, you get the best Marvel Studios movie ever! The most epic hero vs. hero clash in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has finally arrived and not to mention that Captain America: Civil War absolutely destroyed Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in box office. This action packed, exhilarating blockbuster will have you at the edge of your seats and will leave you torn between which side to root for. MCU fans, you will be in for a treat!

Civil War takes place after Avengers: Age of Ultron. This film takes a different direction from all the other MCU films. Now we get to see the Avengers deal with accountability and the consequences of their actions. The government decides to pass the Superhero Registration Act, a law that registers all super-powered beings as living weapons of mass destruction and puts them under control of the government. This causes tension in The Avengers. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), who supports the act, believes that the need to be put in check otherwise there will cause big collateral damage.

Captain America (Chris Evans) on the other hand, is the against the act. He doesn’t think they can do what they need to if the government interferes. He believes the safest hands are their own. This results in a division of the team and escalates into an all-out war. The Avengers have chosen sides with Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Vision (Paul Bettany), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), War Machine (Don Cheadle), and Spiderman (Tom Holland) on Team Iron Man, and The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Ant Man (Paul Rudd), Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) on Team Cap. So many heroes in one movie! And of course, I’m rooting for Team Iron Man!

As a hardcore Avengers fan, this film did not disappoint me. From the breathtaking fight scenes to the heart breaking moments when Cap has to chose between his friends, I was so afraid to blink because I did not want to miss a second of the movie. Although I was really excited to watch this film, I was a little skeptical about how the film would play out, since there were so many characters and conflicts to fit in two hours and a half. However, the co-directors, Anthony and Joe Russo, did a marvelous job in capturing the Avengers in their best moments. I do wish that I got to see all of the characters appear more than just the big fight scene, but the intricate fight sequence was well planned and had me up on my feet pounding for a victory. The introduction of Spiderman into the film came out of nowhere, but not that it really mattered since he was so cool, especially with his new suit! Nevertheless,Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. portrayed their characters perfectly and put on a sensational performance that left me in tears. Overall, the little stuff like time were definitely compensated for the incredible acting, plot, and action scenes.

Marvel has yet again put together the ultimate superhero ensemble and produced another brilliant mega blockbuster. Captain America: Civil War soared to $957 million dollars in the box office after two weeks in theaters, crushing records in the MCU and the nation. Besides Marvel fans, I highly recommend this film for anyone that craves action, suspense, and just plain awesomeness. So, whose side are you on?
