Maria Hernandez

Hi, I’m Maria Hernandez, also known as Vegan Queen because I’m probably the only vegan throughout campus. I have been promoting veganism for a whole year, and while I haven’t accomplished to change anyone, I managed to turn someone pescatarian, which is kind of close to a vegan, but I’m still working on that.

I am a senior here at Hoover and I’m part of the Academy of Information Technology and carry the position of secretary in my academy’s advisory board. I’m involved in varsity cheer and I’m also part of Mid-City Can, and specifically part of Itch which is a non- profit organization that helps City Heights in improving transportation.

When I get accepted to SDSU, I want to major in computer science and work in National Cyber Security. I want to be able not only protect our country from dangerous parties, but help maintain online safety for all citizens. My favorite thing about technology is that its become a  part of our daily lives and I just enjoy the idea of it because it makes our lives more innovative.  For my future, I want to be working in a technological career and be able to build my own empire, by that I mean having, my own house, cars, and possibly my own company that has to do with technology.
