April Means POEMS!

Sofonyas Shibre, Editor in Chief

As spring break approaches, so does April, a month dedicated to poetry. Here at the Cardinal, we are challenging students to hone their inner Shakespeare and come up with a poem. It can be humorous, serious, or anything else. Poetry is a medium that allows writers to vent and purge whatever is in their head. In a time of quick texts and minimal reading, it’s important to challenge yourself with something different.

This contest will be running through April 13th and student entries will be published on the school news site. If you’re interested in taking part, submit two copies, one with your name, grade, and your third period teacher included and another with only the poem. The top three places will receive Starbucks gift cards, as incentive to keep writing. Once your poem is completed you can submit it to [email protected] or drop it off directly in Room 256.
