Jennifer Lynn Lopez was born in July 24, 1969, in New York City, New York. Her parents Guadalupe Rodriguez and David Lopez are Puerto Rican. She has two siblings, an older sister, Leslie, and a younger sister, Lynda. Jennifer started taking dance and singing lessons when she was five years old and tour around New York with her school at seven. Her parents weren’t wealthy and didn’t speak English fluently but raised money for a better future.

Lopez is an actress, dancer, singer, fashion designer and producer. She became the first Latina actress to earn over $1 million for a film. Her net worth for 2018 is 380 million, and has received a Golden Globe nomination for her lead role in Selena. She is currently a judge on the reality show, World of Dance, and will be starring in a new television show, Shades of Blue, where she plays a single mom who is a police detective.

In 2009, Lopez created the Lopez Family Foundation with her sister Lynda. The mission of this nonprofit organization is to increase the availability of healthcare for underprivileged women and children. In 2017, along with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, she launched a humanitarian relief campaign entitled Somos Una Voz – We Are One Voice, to help raise funds for supplies to areas affected by Hurricane Maria.
