Winter Essentials

In San Diego, there’s usually never an actual “winter.” But this year, strong winds and rain came out of nowhere in late October. This is a sign; we need to get prepared for this cold season! We’re all use to flip flops and shorts, but now it’s time to bundle up and get warm. You might also need to whip out some skin and hair care essentials for the change in climate.

Put away the t-shirts, and get a nice and cozy sweater! Cute knit sweaters or athletic hoodies will do the job to keep you warm. You should also consider adding layers, like a thin long sleeve or a compression shirt underneath. Another thing you should consider getting is a pair of gloves! The touchscreen friendly gloves will be your best friend for the winter because you can still use your phone while wearing them. A cute beanie is another major essential to keep your ears warm and save you from worrying about your hair. Around this holiday season, some cute Christmas themed socks are available! They can be found in stores like Walmart and Target for very cheap prices. The fuzzy ones are the best by the way!

Winter equals dry skin and lips, so we must act fast! Do not be embarrassed about your ashy-ness, it is completely normal. Always keep a small lotion bottle handy, which could be found in the travel-sizes. The lips needs some love too! Do not rely on your own saliva; get chapstick! I personally recommend Burt’s Bees, but any brand will do the job just fine. Don’t forget to give your hair some love too! If your hair gets frizzy or dry, I highly recommend using Garnier Frutis hair oils to tame the mane. If all else fails, a beanie or a baseball cap is a great and simple option.

Do not get left in the cold being ashy! Bundle up and stay in. Slap on those fuzzy socks, wrap up in a warm blanket, and enjoy some hot chocolate! Don’t forget to moisturize as well! Have a great winter, everyone!
