Is Black Friday worth the hype?

One of the biggest shopping days of the year, where people’s favorite things go on sale, like electronics and toys, is called Black Friday which traditionally starts on the day after Thanksgiving.  However, people can actually start on Thanksgiving Day when some stores open at 6pm.

People typically wait in line for about 2 hours (average), while some people even camp days or weeks prior to the day. Sales go from 30% to around 50% off or more depending on the items. Not only is it a good way to spend money knowing one can get better offers than any other day of the year, but people can save so much money, and eventually get what they want for a cheaper price. In my opinion, it is worth it because this is really the only time you can get a great deal and knowing November and December are the busiest months of the year, it should definitely be taken advantage of.

Black Friday is full of big deals both online and in-store. The advantage of it is that those who are the first in line, will get doorbuster deals, which means these items aren’t available online. In addition, those who do online shopping will have the advantage of not dealing with the hassle of waiting in line or having to deal with something running out, or parking. Black Friday shoppers get a huge range of deals to take, and it’s the perfect day to get Christmas gifts beforehand then last minute.

Some might say Black Friday shopping isn’t worth it for the reasons of the mess and hassle one has to go through. For example, some people say doorbusters are just heavily hyped deals that retailers offer on a limited amount of stuff for a certain time period. Another example would be that it can be dangerous, like people fighting over the last product, or the hassle for getting walked on in the line when doors open. Another simple reason, it isn’t worth it because families are more interested in buying materialistic goods than spending time with family. Although this may be true, I still believe it’s worth it because many of the things in the store aren’t online and it’s an exciting experience and having the luck of getting what you want without spending too much, it only happens for three days!

Everyone always wants good deals on expensive items, and having a week to take advantage of getting it, is really good. Not only does it infact uplift  the holiday season with grabbing gifts for your loved ones, it also just embracing the holiday season as it should be, later celebrating the dinner with your loved ones. One thing to keep in mind is to always be safe around others and to be precautious when shopping online as well. Black Friday is definitely worth it and many people should take advantage of it!   Not to mention Cyber Monday when deals can be found only online.
