Cristina Saralegui was born January 29th, 1948 in Havana Cuba. She came to the United States at the age of 12. She has done many things in her life such as journalism, producer and most famously known for her hosting job for her talk show El Show de Cristina on Univision which aired from 1989- 2010. Saralegui has used her platform to inform viewers about many important issues such as HIV and AIDS, imigration and anorexia. She also has become a campaigner for AIDS and was on the board of the American Foundation for AIDS Research for many years.

She was also active in charitable work for example, in 1996 her and her husband, Marcos Avila (former member of the Miami Sound Machine) founded Arriba La Vida, a foundation that provides AIDS awareness and education to Hispanics. She is also an advocate for the gay and lebian community. Saralegui also has a daily radio show Cristina Opina and a monthly magazine called Cristina la Revista. She has also earned many Emmy Awards and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Christina Saralegui is an inspiration to millions of people to this day and is one of the most influential Hispanics in the world.
