Many influencing HIspanics have impacted the world. As we continue to honor Hispanic Heritage Month, there are Hispanics , past and present, worth acknowledging. A very influential person in Mexican history is Pancho Villa. Jose Doroteo Arango Arambula, most known as Pancho Villa, was born on June 5, 1878. He was the oldest of five children. He received education from his local church-run school, but quit school to help his mother after his father passed away. After getting arrested in his early life, he was forcibly inducted into the federal army.

Villa was an important figure in the Mexican Revolution. He led the Mexican soldiers and was the leader in the Mexican revolution, which would later lead into Mexico’s independence. Some of the important battles he went through were the Battle of Columbus and Ciudad Juárez. The battle of Ciudad Juarez was very important because it marked the end of the first phase of the Mexican revolution.

The Battle of Columbus was also very important because Villa attacked the border town of Columbus, New Mexico. Villa attacked them because he was angered at the Americans because they were providing support to the Mexican rivals which were trying to overtake Mexico. So he stood high for his country and protected them from being overtaken. The whole purpose of the mexican revolution was to end the dictatorship in Mexico and establish a constitutional republic. Villa sparked a light that would later benefit the future of Mexicans.
