Brandon’s Top Ten Holiday Songs for 2022

Brandon Antunez, Senior Writer

Throughout the years many holiday songs have been made. Either old ones or newer ones. Some are still played and some have been forgotten. Holiday songs bring an enjoyment and nostalgic feeling when the holidays are around. There are many different and unique holiday songs but these are my top 10 holiday songs.

  1. Last Christmas by Wham!

Last Christmas has to be an all time favorite/classic holiday song. It´s lyrics are so iconic that everyone knows them. It really brings out the Christmas spirit. A very constructed song that has and will always be brought up during the holiday.

2. All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey

All I Want for Christmas is You is also an iconic christmas song. It always comes up when Christmas is around. It is one of the first Christmas songs that someone thinks about when they think of Christmas. It is always playing at stores and everywhere around when the holidays come around. It isn’t number 1 because I feel like it is the only song some people know and it is overplayed.

3. Rocking Around the Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee

Rocking Around the Christmas Tree is a classic from Brenda Lee, and a very well known song. It brings so much nostalgic feelings. It is a top 3 song for Christmas. For many, it might be number 1 but I believe it isn’t as perfect as the other two songs above it.

4. Itś the Most Wonderful Time of the Year by Andy Williams

Itś the Most Wonderful Time of the Year is an all time classic.  It is in my top five best Christmas songs. This song is perfect for Christmas because it brings everyone together into the feeling of Christmas. The title of the song is perfect because Christmas is truly the best time of the year, from the presents to the food to being with your family.

5. It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas by Perry Como

Same with this song, it is an all time classic. It is one of the top 5 Christmas songs. From the voice of the singer to the lyrics, it brings the spirit of Christmas. It is the perfect song to play which will always remind you of Christmas, and you can play it at any time of the year.

6. Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms

Jingle Bell Rock is a very influential Christmas song. It brings everything that Christmas is about. A great song sung by a great voice. One of the best Christmas songs to hear alongside family and friends. Might be top 5 for some but for me it’s just outside looking in.

7. Feliz Navidad by Jose Feliciano

Feliz Navidad is a very good Christmas song. It might not be heard as much due to it being in a non-English language but it is really a good song that has always been taught to little kids. It spreads out to another language which is truly good because it brings other people together to express their love for the best holiday.

8. Holly Jolly Christmas by Burl Ives

What a song! It represents what Christmas is truly all about. The song represents exactly what the lyrics speak about. It can truly be the best song if others were not created. It represents Christmas and it demonstrates why Christmas is the best holiday. No other holiday has as many songs.

9. Let It Snow by Dean Martin

Let It Snow represents how everyone imagines what Christmas looks like in the movies. Everyone wants snow when it is Christmas and winter it just makes the spirit better. A very good song but not one of the best of all time. Dean Martin makes the song way better with his amazing voice.

10. Santa Tell Me by Ariana Grande

Not an all time classic but it has become one of the most popular Christmas songs in recent times. A very well known singer like Ariana Grande makes the song more popular and loved by everyone. It is a very good song and it might be one of the best in the later years for some. Grande brings a new type of female singing to the holidays.
