James Charles is a famous makeup artist and is currently 24 years old. He was born on May 23, 1999, in Bethlehem, New York.
James began working as an amateur hairstylist and started doing makeup after being asked by a friend to do her makeup for a school dance. After teaching himself how to apply makeup, he soon began doing it professionally for girls in his area. In 2015 James decided he had a lot of love for makeup so he started a YouTube channel. Hearing of guys doing makeup wasn’t a popular thing, but in 2016, James became the first guy to be represented by the makeup brand Covergirl. He then gained a lot of fame and attention.
James was really good at doing makeup so he would post tutorials and show people all over the world step by step how to get certain makeup looks. James collaborated with the brand Morphe and released his own line, Sister Collection, and it was a big hit. Since the launch of his channel, Charles has made a number of collaborative videos, doing makeup on and with various public figures including: Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Lil Nas X, and Kesha.
