Lydia Coa was born in May, 2007, in San Diego California. She is junior that attends Hoover High School and is a part of the Girls Tennis Team. She has played for three years she’s been at Hoover and plans to continue playing her senior year and into college. The reason she joined the tennis team is because she wanted to be more athletic and feel connected to a group of people while playing a sport and making friends.
She dreams of going to the University of California San Diego, where she wants to study business. Lydia has worked extremely hard to get where she’s at. She takes AP and honors classes and is working extremely hard to get into a good college. She is a 4.0 GPA student and plans to graduate with honors. Her parents inspire her a lot, and she says that “they are a huge part of why she wants to get into a good college and get a good job.”
Lydia comes from a Vietnamese background, and her favorite part of her culture is the food. If asked, she would have to say her favorite Vietnamese dish is all of them. She loves when the Chinese New Year rolls around because of all the amazing food she gets to eat and because of the red envelopes of money she receives. She is a huge music lover, and loves rap, especially from her favorite artist, Baby Smoove, who she hopes to see in concert one day. Another one of her favorite artists is Frank Ocean. She loves his slow melodies and the way his voice sounds so quiet and calm. Her favorite song by him is “Pink Matter.” She is a great example of a Hoover student.
