In my opinion, family is important to me because they raised me and made me into the person that I am to this day and always there for me.
My family raised me into the person I am today by teaching me many different things, but one thing was culture. I grew up in a Mexican Catholic household and my favorite time of the year growing up was December because my family would really go all out for Christmas by setting up a great big Christmas tree and a lot of decorations. Ever since I was little, me and my dad would go out early December or late November to pick out a live Christmas tree. We celebrate Christmas on the 24th of December and at 12 o’clock we open presents.
Family has taught me culture. They’ve also taught me manners and customs, like for example no elbows on table and to say “thank you.” My family is always there for me when I need them because ever since I was younger I’ve been taught to talk with them about anything or any problem I have and they’re always there with a solution or advice.
For example I grew up with three sisters and one brother and my sisters have always been there for me whether it be supporting me with my homework or personal problems relating to mental health and such. My parents are also always there for me supporting me in any position and always encouraging me to do my best in school and anything I do for my future. They are a big part of my life and inspiration for what I want in my future because they always give me lots of advice and support me.
Family is important to me because of all of these reasons and much more. I believe that family is a strong foundation that helps make you into the person you are.
