10 things to show your love…for FREE!

10+things+to+show+your+love...for+FREE%21

Valentine’s Day is a day to express your feelings towards your boyfriend or girlfriend.  Showing your significant other how your feel can be expensive, especially if you do not have a lot of money.  Here is a list of things you can do, and the best part is that they’re all free!

1. You can create and write a card expressing your feelings to them.  Start by folding a piece of paper in half, and then start creating!

2. You can write a poem about how you feel.  Any piece of paper will do.  Something special you can do is roll up the paper and tie a colored ribbon around it.

3. Cozy movie night at home.  With free streaming services like ROKU or TUBI, you can find any type of romantic movie.

4. Leave little love notes and sweet messages.  Any kind of paper will do.  If you have PostIts, those work well!  Texts throughout the day are thoughtful too!

5. Plan a surprise date night at home.  You can be as creative as you want here!

6. Cook their favorite meal from scratch and surprise them with a homemade dinner.  If you already have the ingredients, great.  Otherwise, this might cost you a little.

7. Spend quality time talking and connecting with one another.  Look into each other’s eyes, and listen.

8. Write a list of all the things you love and appreciate about them.  This could be on any piece of paper or in the card you created earlier.

9. Plan a romantic sunset walk on the beach or beautiful park.  This is a great one to do!

10. Plan a date night under the stars at a nearby park.  Nothing is more romantic than watching the stars.

Dhalia Arriaga
Dhalia Arriaga, Staff Writer

Dhalia Arriaga is a junior in Hoover High. She enjoys writing, and by writing she expresses herself and all the emotions that go on in her head. To Dhalia writing isn’t just words written but it’s words that have a story to it. It has a deeper meaning to her that's why she enjoys writing so much. It brings her peace and comfort. Dhalia’s main goal is to make her parents proud. She wants to make her parents proud because she knows that her parents sacrificed so much for her and her sisters. The thought of her parents going to another country and leaving everything behind to give their kids a better life didn't sit right with her. So she wants to show them that she appreciates everything they’ve done by graduating and proving to them that anything is possible when you set your mind to it. Every tear and feeling of exhaustion will end up being worth it once she graduates and is able to say that she made it through those tough high school years. No matter how hard this journey might get she will always try to keep a positive mindset because at times it gets real and the feeling of giving up gets to her but then again she thinks about her immigrant parents who came here with nothing and have given her everything. Dhalia wants to be able to give them so much back for all the love and support she has received. As you can tell Dhalia is very attached to her family. Family means everything to her and enjoys every second she gets with them.
