Cardinal Pride renovation

April Fool’s! This story is false!

After much consideration and consultation between administration and school faculty, Hoover has decided to require a uniform dress code for the upcoming 2024/2025 school year.

“We have come to the conclusion that adopting the idea of school uniforms can help create a more positive school representation,” said teacher Mr. Sebastian Ulloa.  “With the start of the dress code, we hope to unify our school once again and help students learn stability, consistency, and respect.”

Administration has thought long and hard about the lack of school spirit that Hoover has been experiencing. Starting this upcoming school year, this new school policy will promote a more conducive learning environment. It is certain that with the enforcement of the dress code, Hoover can take its first step towards providing a less distracting learning environment for students.

School uniforms will also create a positive learning environment, and can benefit our students’ self-esteem by reducing the bullying rates by giving students a less judgemental outlook. With the cooperation of students, following and meeting these expectations will also make it easier for school security, police, and faculty to better identify Hoover students in or around the school campus, which not only ensures our school’s safety and security, but our students as well.

Although the news may be alarming, it is the hope that uniforms will be beneficial for Hoover by creating a less competitive atmosphere while also instilling a sense of Cardinal Pride within the school. Just like how a sports team creates a bond through their uniforms, Hoover students could be just as unified.  Any variation of the uniform will be worn Monday through Thursday.  But the good news is that on Fridays, students can wear jeans and sneakers and any Cardinal t-shirt.

The following are proposed options for the Hoover Cardinal uniform.

Unisex polos

Dress shirts

Vest and Cardinal tie

Bottoms

Shoes
