Louis Lee was born in 1912, in Oregon. He was a photographer who captured pictures during World War Il.
He first started taking pictures when he joined the workforce at the Kaiser Shipyards in the early 1940’s. Since he worked at the shipyards, he had a perspective of what life was like for the workers who helped in the war. He took pictures of what people went through and now we use it as examples so we can see how it was back in the day. Louis documented most of WWll and captured moments that are now important to history. Louis photos weren’t just for recording history, they were also used to make people feel proud of how hard they worked during the war. The pictures were shared in newspapers, magazines, and government publications, which reached a lot of people. His job as the Kaiser Shipyards Photographer during World War II was important, because he was the one in charge of taking pictures that showed the importance of the workers. His photos show us their hard work, strength, and how they helped in the war. He had one of the most easiest jobs because he got to do something he enjoyed and made him an important part of history since he is the reason for us to have pictures of the WWll.
