Daniel Quintero is a senior attending Hoover High in the San Diego area. Born on June 30 in San Diego, he was raised along with his younger sibling in a low middle class Hispanic household.

During his adolescent years, Daniel had a multitude of experiences involving gaming, most of which came from utilizing retro consoles that his father would bring back refurbished from thrift or retro game stores. His first console was a refurbished Sega Dreamcast, with the inclusion of Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure One. That’s exactly how his passion for video games had begun, which is also why he is achieving to major in game development and computer science after high school. After attaining the credentials, not to mention the skills to develop a game, he then plans to move into an organization to gain experience creating with other people on a project, so that afterwards he could work under a major Japanese gaming company.

Daniel also has an interest in the anime art form that originated from childhood memories of watching Toonami in the late afternoon. His favorite series; includes Made in Abyss, Bleach, One Piece, Jujustu Kaisen, Yu Yu Hakusho, Fullmetal Alchemist, Mob Psycho one hundred, and Gurren Lagan. This appreciation for the medium is what had dawned his passion for art.

For more than a decade, he’s been practicing his artistic skills, endeavoring his hands into a variety of tools and techniques. Although he still lacks a bit more experience and confidence in his skills, he hopefully could be able to get his skills up to par with Yusuke Murata, Junji Ito, Tite Kubo, or Tatsuki Fujimoto.
