An ordinary Asian-American girl is attending her sophomore year at Hoover High School named Vivian Nguyen. City Heights is her hometown, as she grew up her whole life living there. Vivian’s parents had raised her two older brothers before having her. They had a life in Vietnam, but decided for a change.
Vivian is a common name but the meaning behind it is quite special. Her name comes from her aunt who named her and her siblings with the same initials. This was to keep the tradition of the “V family”’ including her dad “Vu.” The family was not very rich and high in status, since her dad worked and her mom was a stay at home mom. Eventually, her mom started yard selling to raise money for her family and to provide for them. They eventually did get out of a money hole and now have a nice home out on the coast of San Diego.
