I’m Selam and I’m a junior. I was born on July 7, in Ethiopia in the capital city. I never thought I would take a publication class. I took this class because it’s kind of cool. What I hope for 2021 is that everyone can be treated equally and for discrimination to come to an end. Plenty of people have been bullied or treated differently because of things like their appearance, race, and gender. However, a hateful attitude and destructive mindset will not make our world a better place. What we need is an open mind, universal acceptance, and understanding of what we have in common. So I hope the pandemic will teach people to care more about others.
I think that communication is a unique quality of mine. I listen to others and absorb everything they say. I may have advice for some things and other times I am just a listening ear. I drink my favorite beverage every day, which is an iced mocha with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. My favorite dessert would be the classic, ice cream. For breakfast I like a Greek yogurt parfait with berries and granola.
