Senior Kimberly Soto is a 17-year-old cheerleader and in the AHHC academy at Hoover High School.
Kimberly has been in cheerleading since her sophomore year and has put hard work into her sport. In her first two years of cheer, she was on the JV team, and this year she is taking part in the varsity team. She first joined the cheer team because it was a dream of hers since she was a little girl. She says that the person who keeps her going is her younger self because when she finally came to high school, she was able to accomplish a dream that she had when she was young and wanted to make her younger self proud. Kimberly says it is something that she has grown to love and appreciate over the past few years because of all the friendships and connections she has made with the other girls on the team. Another perk she notes from cheer is being able to show school spirit and bring energy to the football games and to the school in general.
Outside of cheer, Kimberly loves to play softball at school and outside of school. She puts in her best effort in softball and cheer by attending practices and giving it her best. After high school, she plans to attend college and major in biology, and minor in accounting and finance. She hopes that she will be able to attend UCSD or SDSU. Kimberly’s future is destined for amazing things as she has shown determination and has been a great student at Hoover High School.
She tells her classmates and teammates, “Never give up on your hopes and dreams.”
