Teacher Appreciation Week is a time to recognize and celebrate the teachers who shape students’ lives every day. Teachers do more than just deliver lessons, they inspire, guide and support both inside and outside the classroom. One such teacher is Ms. Shari Kha, a dedicated history teacher who is passionate about teaching. 

When asked what inspired her to become a teacher, Ms.Kha explained that she just wanted to help others. This motivation continues to influence her work today. Her favorite part about teaching is teaching the students new things that they may not already know, which shows how much they value the impact she has on her students. In fact, what she enjoys most about working with students is teaching them new things that they may have forgotten about, highlighting the importance they place on building connections and helping students grow.

As a history teacher, Ms.Kha especially enjoys teaching the subject because she just really likes history herself . Her enthusiasm helps bring lessons to life and encourages students to engage more deeply with the material. When it comes to student success, she advises her students to try their best and ask for help, offering valuable guidance for both academic and personal growth. She also shared that she wishes students better understood the history and to look forward to learning which emphasizes an important lesson that can help students succeed.

Reflecting on her own time as a student, Ms.Kha said her favorite subject was also history.  Like many students, she did struggle in school but she overcame challenges by getting a tutor after school . These experiences have shaped the way she teaches and relates to their students today.

Outside of the classroom, Ms.Kha enjoys walking her dogs with her husband , showing that teachers have passions and interests beyond school as well. She also shared that her favorite hobby is playing board games with her family, adding a personal touch to her story.

Overall, Ms.Kha is an inspiring educator who is dedicated to helping students succeed. Her passion, commitment, and care make a lasting impact on everyone she teaches. During Teacher Appreciation Week, it is important to recognize and thank teachers like her for all that they do.
