Ms. Donaldson better known as Ms. Don is a kind, open-minded, and thoughtful physics teacher here at Hoover High School.
¨When we do hands-on activities,” expressed Ms. Don when asked about her in class activities. “I see kids realize something they didn’t understand, it really sparks my enjoyment for teaching science.”
Many people enjoy being in her class because she brings an amazing energy and is always so welcoming. When I took her class my sophomore year, she truly helped me understand the subject. She helped me at times when I was confused and communicated with me when I struggled with certain problems. She deeply understands and cares about your education and your well-being.
What inspired Ms. Don to become a teacher was the fact that she really liked science. She wanted to make science feel fun and interesting to try, instead of complicated or scary. Ms. Don ensures this idea by making sure she teaches each unit carefully and making sure that each student understands the unit. During work time, she comes up to students to ask how they are doing.
Ms. Don mostly teaches LEAD students, but also has taught several VAPA students, including myself. Ms. Don runs the Garden Club, which takes place every Thursday at 3:45 pm in room 1405. She encourages students to join to learn to water and weed, and also take fresh fruit and vegetables home. Ms. Don also states how relaxing it is to be in nature. She always encourages students to try new things because you never know if you´ll end up loving it.
Overall, Ms. Don is an amazing teacher who highly focuses on students’ education and their own benefit, and is always there to push her students forward to excel while still having fun, and this is why Ms. Don is a great and charismatic teacher.
