Ms. Massey has been a part of the Hoover High School staff since 2017. One of the highlights of her career has been advising and supporting students throughout the years in order to help reach their goals and have a successful academic life.

Ms. Massey’s advice to students goes along the lines: “Do as much as you can with laughter and be willing to change everything we do, no matter what.” Which comes to say, a person should be willing to make an effort to change in times of need as long as they know it is something they can look back to and laugh about rather than regret decisions.

Making students feel safe and welcome in her classroom, Ms. Massey always ensures her students are happy and comfortable among the space she creates. Her students appreciate the fact that they can stay focused and dedicated during class but also act silly and have a good time.They create a nice balance between silly jokes and doing what they’re assigned to do, as she makes sure her classroom is full of joy and motivation.

Being humble is one of the qualities Ms. Massey strives to demonstrate through her classroom. She makes sure no one is above anyone else and everyone is equally acknowledged by her. Students may describe Ms. Massey as; “Savage” and “Extraordinary” as a way to capture her sparkling and refreshing personality. Rather than to judge a person, she is someone people can be themselves around and be understood.

Teaching had always been apart of Ms. Massey’s aspiring career choice, she often found teaching fascinating and even thought about being an elementary teacher. As she progressed through school she developed a calling towards the subject of math and made it a goal to become a math teacher which is who she is proud to be today. During her time in school, Ms. Massey received much inspiration to pursue her career and takes any feedback from her students as a way to be the best teacher and inspiration for her own students.

Jessenia Ayala is a senior at Hoover High School and is in the AHHC academy. Her favorite movie of all time would be The Pursuit of Happyness. This movie showed her the importance of protecting her dreams and appreciating who and what she has. Although this may not mean a lot to some people, the movie holds a great deal of value that many overlook. She enjoys being around her family, especially her niece Priscella, who’s two years old. Priscella is the reason why Jess wants to pursue child development and one day become a preschool teacher. If you look up the meaning of Jessenia, you’ll see her name means flowers. This led to her having her own flower arrangement business, and it’s been two years since she started. Baking is something Jess does for fun, but it soon also turned into a wonderful success in business. La Cornue is the absolute dream oven she hopes to have in her house. These things are what fill her soul and clear her mind after a hard day. She loves being around people who make her think deeper and see life from angles she never considered. You’ll always see her with her headphones and her coffee because those two alone are what make her, her. Jess is obsessed with nature and always takes a picture, and just puts her music on to sit and admire God’s creation of the world. Over the years, she has learned so much. She thinks they are people who helped her become the person she ended up being, and she’s grateful for them even if they were never meant to be in her life forever.
