South Korean boy band, BTS, has seven members who debuted on June 13th, 2013 under the company known as Bighit Entertainment. The members are RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. They started their career with their first album, 2 Cool 4 Skool and single, “No More Dream.” Their music was first hip-hop then developed into a variety of concepts and genres. Expanding into the western industry, they slowly became an international boy band.

 BTS embarked on their “Love Yourself” series which sought the enlightenment of self-love through the narrative sequence of “beginning, development, turn, and conclusion.” In September 2017, BTS released the first part of the series, their fifth EP, Love Yourself: Her, and had a powerful impact on not only fans, but people around the world. The message of loving yourself was heartfelt and a reminder to love yourself. Despite the language barrier, this album reached out to many international fans. Their Love Yourself: Her album broke multiple records such as selling 1.44 million copies in South Korea, 14 sold-out North American concert dates, and charted in Billboard 200.

BTS’s newest release single in August 2020, “Dynamite,” gained 100 million views in 24 hours breaking Youtube records. It is recorded fully in English with a pop and retro vibe to it. “Dynamite” is a song that is catchy. The lyrics are simple to sing along with an appealing beat to dance to. It has charted on Billboard 100 as 1st place for 3 weeks. The meaning of the song was to lift people’s spirits since we are in some difficult times as of right now.
