Steve Thomas Lacy-Moya is a known American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was born May 23, 1998, in Compton, CA. At age seven, he discovered his love for the guitar while attending church. In 2013, he became the guitarist for the band The Internet, and later on, releasing solo music. Lacy’s unique combination of R&B, funk, and alternative rock has grown a safe and supportive fanbase where being LGBTQ+ is okay!

Lacy never considered the thought of LGBTQ+ as a child, but as he progressed with life, he found what he liked to be confusing, not knowing if girls or boys interested him. In 2017, Steve Lacy was confirmed bisexual and scornful. Now an openly bisexual artist, he positively impacts the LGBTQ+ community with representation, stereotypes, viewpoints, and increasing LGBTQ+ in the music industry. By being open about his sexuality, he’s a role model for the LGBTQ+ community, demonstrating that success is possible regardless of sexual orientation.

Steve Lacy has collaborated with LGBTQ+ artists within and outside the music industry. These collaborations bring acknowledgment toward messages from mighty and diverse voices. By working with LGBTQ+ artists, Steve Lacy builds a more inclusive and loveable music world.

Lacy’s lyrics and themes of love and LGBTQ+ backgrounds allow his audience to relate, providing comfort and validation of who they are. An example of Lacy’s work is “Like Me” featuring DAISY WORLD. This song covers the queer umbrella and discusses the feelings one may feel when discovering themselves. Steve Lacy reminds the LGBTQ+ community that their never alone and instead are recognized and loved.
