Cielo Ugarte, Staff Writer
Cielo Ugarte is a senior at Hoover High School for the 2024-2025 school year.
She plans on attending community college for two years and then transferring to UCSD, if she isn’t able to go straight into a four year college, but she still isn’t sure what she wants to major in. She hopes to keep her grades up to be able to achieve that. She is thinking about majoring in business administration but isn’t sure yet. For now, she knows she wants to pick a career that will put her social skills to work.
Cielo is Mexican-American and is fluent in both English and Spanish. She’s a part of a family of five and is the youngest of three. She lives with her mom and dad along with her brother, but her sister lives in Los Angeles. She owns two dogs whom she loves very much. One’s name is Mimi and the other’s name is Mochi.
She wants to learn new languages like French and Italian. She is currently learning a bit of sign language but wants to learn more fluently. She hopes to be fluent in French, Italian and ASL to be able to communicate with others.
Cielo enjoys listening to music in her free time. She listens to any genre of music that doesn’t include country, kpop, heavy metal or hard rock. She also enjoys singing and also plays the flute. She plays the flute for the concert band here at Hoover and for the 2024 “Marching Cardinals” marching band. She’s been playing flute for two years now and she hopes that it’ll be a part of her life later on in life as well.
Cielo is a social person who talks to anyone that talks to her but she hates public speaking. She doesn’t like having to talk in front of a bunch of people and has a little bit of stage fright. She is an honest and caring person that always tries to help anyone in need of help. She tries to help her friends and give them advice whenever they may need it.
