Nathalie Mendoza, Staff Writer
Nathalie Mendoza is a senior at Hoover High School. She was born on January 3, in Las Vegas, but was raised in Mexico and spent most of her life there, until her teenage years, when she promptly returned to the United States.
She has a profound passion for nature and spends her time exploring the diverse array of animals and insects found worldwide. She hopes to become a veterinarian or an entomologist and work in the animal field, either saving or collecting data from our world’s diverse ecosystems. She’s also very passionate about art, starting by tracing the outlines of various objects around her house and giving them silly little smiles with hats and bows. She considers this more of a hobby than anything else, but still hopes to get into a drawing course and continue exploring her potential.
During her free time, she likes to experiment with various crafts and arts, doing scrapbooking, making dry clay figurines, wood and oil painting, often leaving various personal side-projects in the “Work in progress” bin due to procrastination. She also likes to read during her free time; her favorite genres are xenomorphic fiction, horror, dystopian, and books that are considered “Classics” of the English language. She also indulges in reading webcomics like “Homestuck” and “Golden Strikes.”
Like any human being, she enjoys music as well, her favorite artists being Fiona Apple, Mitski, Black Country New Road, KatieJane Garside, Daniel Johnston, Kendrick Lamar, ILLIT, and Twice. Is difficult to say what genre of music she likes the most; in her own words, she listens to “Anything and almost everything.”
