Mr. Aaron Pores is a dedicated and committed English teacher a part of the LEAD academy, Leadership, Education, Advocacy, and Dedication, previously well known as SJA.
Not only is Mr. Pores an important teacher but also the academy director of LEAD. His leadership means having to create school events in honor of your academy. Previously, LEAD has hosted the blood drive, eligible for those healthy cardinals of at least 17 years of age, who are willing to help out those in need. In order to fit into the requirements cardinals would have to have lab tests done before actually starting the process to donate blood. Through this advocacy work for healthy bodies, this shows the strength within our communities by taking time out of your busy schedule to donate blood that could potentially contribute to saving someone’s life. Therefore, Mr. Pores is a part of the change in our diverse school community, uniting students and teaching them to look out for one another. Essentially earning him a spot as one of Hoover’s most valuable and inspiring teachers for aspiring students wanting to make the world a better place.
Mr. Pores is a big believer of education, promoting that knowledge is power, and the importance of advocacy in a society where sometimes our voices can’t be heard. Nowadays in our current society, young people are the ones with the voice and should be willing to stand up for what is right. In the LEAD academy, students are taught social skills and how to advocate for not only themselves but also for minorities.
Mr. Pores is constantly looking out for his students and making sure they feel inspired in order to continue their advocacy work and education, never once doubting his students’ abilities of becoming significant figures in our world.
